Our History
Calvary Baptist Church was founded on October 11, 1959. Dr. Wm. K. McComas was called as the first pastor. Dr. McComas led the church in purchasing five acres at the corner of Decourcey and W. Sunset. He was responsible for the erection of all the buildings at the current location. He remained as pastor until the fall of 1976. At that time Dr. Ralph Wingate was called as pastor and he served the church for three years. In December 1979 Rev. Jerry Burton was called as pastor and remains as pastor at the present time.
