Hebrews 4:14 “Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.”
Jesus made the need for additional atonement for sin unnecessary when He “passed into the heavens”. Jesus understands what believers are going through. He successfully faced tremendous temptation. There are no temptations that believers face that Jesus hasn’t already experienced.
Instead of giving up, we are to go to the throne of grace to get the mercy and grace we need. Prayer is the means to approaching the throne of grace. Grace is God’s enabling.
God never intended for believers to try to triumph over temptation on their own.
